Abstract
In this paper we show that the bifurcation diagrams of finite differen ce semidiscretizations of certain dissipative parabolic partial differ ential equations can be well approximated by their approximate inertia l forms (AIFs) when a set of second-order L-2-orthogonal incremental u nknowns is used.
