Cy. Soong et al., NUMERICAL INVESTIGATION OF FLOW STRUCTURE AND BIFURCATION PHENOMENA OF CONFINED PLANE TWIN-JET FLOWS, Physics of fluids (1994), 10(11), 1998, pp. 2910-2921
This work numerically investigates laminar plane twin-jet flows with s
ide-wall confinement. Time-dependent computations on the full physical
domain are performed in light of the possible emergence of flow unste
adiness and an asymmetric pattern. Of particular concern is how wall-c
onfinement and jet momentum influence the transition of flow patterns.
Results presented herein provide further insight into the complexitie
s involving issues such as the variety of flow structure and the relat
ed bifurcations, jet-jet and jet-wall interactions, and flow instabili
ty involved in the confined twin-jet flow field. (C) 1998 American Ins
