Abstract
Intermolecular beta-coupling of cyclic enones with activated alkenes o r alkynes and an unexpected beta-alkoxide elimination from 17 during t he extension of this strategy towards the synthesis of optically pure prostaglandin analogues by the coupling of 16 and 11 is reported.
