SYNTHESIS OF SUBSTITUTED FLUORO-ISOXAZOLES, ISOXAZOLINES AND PYRIDONES AS ANTIMICROBIAL AND ANTIINFLAMMATORY AGENTS

Various 3 (4(1), fluorophenyl) 5-substituted phenyl isoxazolines, pyri dones and isoxazoles were synthesized by cyclization of the correspond ing 3(4(1)-fluorophenyl) styryl ketones and 3(4(1)-fluorophenyl) dibro mostyryl ketones respectively. These compounds were characterized by e lemental analysis, UV, IR and mass spectral data. Some of these compou nds have been found to exhibit antibacterial and antiinflammatory acti vity.
