Abstract
A facile synthesis of 7-aryl-3-n-propyl-imidazo [1,2-a]-s- triazolo [3 ,4-b][1,3,4]-thiadiazole (3) has been achieved by the condensation of 3-n-propyl-4-amino-5-propyl-s-triazole(1) with cyanogen bromide to yie ld 6-amino-3-propyl-s-triazolo [3,4-b]-[1,3,4]thiadiazole (2) followed by treatment with alpha-haloketones. The structures (3) were supporte d by IR and PMR spectral data. The antibacterial and antifungal activi ty of the system have also been evaluated.
