A series of new phenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazolo}-2-yl]-1-aryl/substituted ary
l thiobarbituric acids (6a-h), ophenyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazolo}-2-]-1-aryl/
substituted aryl thiobarbituric acids (7a-h), have been synthesized by
reacting N-aryl/substituted aryl N-5-{(2-chlorophenyl)-1,3,4-oxa/thia
diazol-2-yl} thioureas (4,5) with malonic acid in presence of acetyl c
hloride. The structures of the newly synthesized compounds were elucid
ated on the basis of their elemental analysis, physical and spectrosco
pic data.
