Features of the quantum field theory in the background of the Godel sp
ace-time are investigated. By using the Euclidean approach, a quantum
field propagating in this background is found to possess a temperature
proportional to the magnitude of the cosmic vorticity. However, in th
e semiclassical approximation, the Godel solution does not present an
