M. Veselko et al., THE USE OF THE COORDINATE MEASURING MACHINE FOR THE STUDY OF 3-DIMENSIONAL BIOMECHANICS OF THE KNEE, Computers in biology and medicine, 28(4), 1998, pp. 343-357
Original methodology for the study of three-dimensional biomechanics o
f the knee is presented in the paper. Defining the geometry of the rig
id body in the body-fixed reference frame and the orientation of the b
ody-fixed reference frame in the global co-ordinate system are the the
oretic basis. The data in the form of co-ordinates of the Cartesian fr
ame are gathered by the co-ordinate measuring machine and analysed by
specially computer program. The theory and a practical example of the
study of the three-dimensional biomechanics of the knee are presented.
Various possibilities of the use of the methodology are discussed. (C
