Abstract
The structure of nickel chelate with acetamidobutanone methyldithiocar bohydrazone is determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. It is demonst rated that the nickel atom coordinates two bidentate ligands, which ar e attached to the metal atom via the sulfur atom and the nitrogen atom of the hydrazine residual. The amide nitrogen atom does not participa te in the coordination. The inference is drawn that the nickel atom ex hibits a tetrahedrally distorted planar coordination.
