Abstract
In this Article the Author analyses the legal aspects of Playstation's modchip.Starting from a comparative view of the technical protection measures in the USA copyright legislation(especially DMCA and Copyright Act),the Author explains the European and Italian framework,giving some guidelines for the interpretation of the technical protection measures and the law.Finally,the Authors analyses two decisions from the Italian Court of Bolzano concerning the criminal consequence of the technical protection measures'violation in the Italian copyright law.
