The lively debate about the new "copyright legislation"(L.248/2000)is really interesting:the aim of the norm is to fight the crime of the counterfeit that, according to the data of the Police,is based above all in Campania and in Puglia, ruled by the criminal organisations that,at the same time, rules the drugs traffic and the smuggling of cigarettes. So,the L.248/2000 introduces a SIAE mark("stamp")to be put on software and multimedia products and on every support which contains sounds, voices or dinamic images(art.181 bis,I co.).The"stamp"-the motive of the application of criminal law and the distinctive mark of the intellectual property work-must be put in evidence and must contain indication about the title, the author, the production,a progressive number and the use destination(for sale, for rent or other). It is compulsory also for software and freeware, because also the free software transfer is destined to produce an income.
