Abstract
A variety of novel 1,3-bisacylimidazolidines were prepared in a one-po t procedure from 1,2-diamines. Condensation of 1,2-diaminoethane or a selection of chiral 1,2-diamines with a variety of aldehydes under deh ydrating conditions gives rise to 1,3-bisunsubstituted imidazolidines. These imidazolidines were not isolated, but were treated with acid ch lorides or anhydrides to give the novel 1,3-bisacylimidazolidines.
