UNSYMMETRICAL BIDENTATE LIGANDS BEARING CHIRAL PHOSPHETANE UNITS

Bidentate ligands containing a PPh2 group and a P-chiral phosphetane m oiety have been prepared from the optically pure P-menthyl substituted phosphetane oxide 4. The PPh2, group is introduced at a distance of t hree, four or five bonds from the other phosphorus atom by methodologi es involving the corresponding hydroxy-substituted phosphetanes.
