Le. Alekseeva et al., AUSTENITE-]MARTENSITE TRANSFORMATION IN THE SURFACE-LAYER OF HARDENEDALPHA+GAMMA STEEL IN THE CASE OF ELASTOPLASTIC DEFORMATION AT DIFFERENT RATES, Russian metallurgy. Metally, (2), 1998, pp. 86-90
The influence of a stress less than the yield point (0.7 sigma(0.2)) a
nd equal to the short-term strength sigma(B) and of a large deformatio
n (to failure) in uniaxial tension at various rates (10(-4)-10(-2) sec
(-1)) on the austenite-martensite phase transformation in the surface
layer of hardened 36N14 alloy with a nonequilibrium two-phase structur
e alpha + gamma at room temperature is investigated. The laws of gamma
--> alpha transformation in the surface layer of the steel over ifs d
epth and the propagation of this transformation along the sample as a
function of the external stress and tension rate are established.
