H. Fujimoto et al., MONOAMINE-OXIDASE INHIBITORY CONSTITUENTS FROM ANIXIELLA-MICROPERTUSA, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 46(10), 1998, pp. 1506-1510
Two known naturally-occurring constituents, 1,7-dihydroxy-3-methylxant
hone and emodin, were isolated from an Ascomycete Anixiella micropertu
sa as inhibitors of mouse monoamine oxidase (MAO), together with four
non-MAO inhibitory components, including two novel compounds. 1,7-Dihy
droxy-3-methylxanthone and emodin inhibited MAO moderately, and IC50 v
alues were calculated to be 2.06 x 10(-5) and 3.70 x 10(-5) M, respect
ively.
