Abstract
E-mail has the potential to serve as one more mechanism to collect dat a. The purpose of this study was to assess the appropriate number of f ollow-ups needed to obtain maximal response rate when sending an e-mai l survey. The results revealed that follow-up memos will approximately double the response rate. Yet, at best, e-mail will only provide a re searcher with an adequate response rate. Recommendations include to ke ep surveys short and noninvasive, to allow for quick and easy response s, and to plan sending one to two follow-up memos.
