Abstract
The new mini-mill at MacMillan Bloedel's Henderson, Kentucky, site, ut ilizes proven technology, as well as innovative sheet conditioning equ ipment, to produce high quality linerboard from 100% recycled furnish. The two-ply sheet is formed on two Fourdriniers, with a top wire form er on the base ply. The machine incorporates a no draw Jumbo roll pres s section, and a soft nip pre-calendering system. The combination of t op wire former and pre-calender enable the mill to produce a sheet wit h excellent surface properties, at low calender loads.
