Abstract
The development of plastic instability in the initial deformation stag es of irradiated materials is studied. The dependence of the fraction of dislocations which overcome obstacles in the dynamic regime (disloc ation ''channeling'') on the degree of radiation hardening (irradiatio n dose) and the dislocation velocity is analyzed. It is shown that thi s effect plays a role in radiation embrittlement of reactor materials. (C) 1998 American Institute of Physics. [S1063-7834(98)01409-9].
