PRESENT SITUATION AND FUTURE OF UTILIZATION OF GEOTHERMAL-ENERGY IN CHINA

From the 1970s, the Chinese government increased investment in the dev elopment of geothermal resources and other new energy, and some experi mental geothermal power stations have been built successfully. In the late 1980s, the exploration of high temperature geothermal resources w as increased. Geothermal fluid with temperatures over 200 degrees C wa s measured in several boreholes. In ZK4002 well, Yangbajing, the tempe rature is even as high as 329.8 degrees C By the year 2010, several ge othermal powerplants with high temperatures and great capacity will be built, so that great advances will be made in the development of geot hermal energy in China.
