Abstract
Methyl isothiocyanate/chlorotrimethylsilane mixtures in THF are readil y converted with lithium diisopropylamide at -95 degrees C to give tri methylsilylmethyl isothiocyanate, bis(trimethylsilyl)methyl isothiocya nate, and tris(trimethylsilyl)methyl isothiocyanate in 50-95% yields.
