Tn. Tully, HEALTH EXAMINATIONS AND CLINICAL DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES OF RATITES, The Veterinary clinics of North America. Food animal practice, 14(3), 1998, pp. 401
The focus of health examinations has shifted from the individual bird
to the flock. Veterinarians are still required to perform health exami
nations on individual birds to diagnose diseases and contribute to the
health of the flock. This article discusses clinical evaluation of ph
ysical examination, diagnostic testing and necropsy procedures. Presen
tations of disease in juveniles are also discussed as a problem area.
Recommendations to prevent and treat diseases are included.
