Abstract
A new advanced scheme of a HIF driver based on the idea of charge-symm etric beams is considered. This driver with an energy of 3.2 MJ and a power of about 1000 TW has 8 final transport lines. The beam spot diam eter is about 2.2 mm in each of them. This scheme may suit the Europea n Test Facility (HIDIF). (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights res erved.
