Abstract
An essential correlation between intramolecular interference of photoe lectron waves and core-hole molecular relaxation is revealed by analyz ing the partial wave composition of the calculated angular distributio n of photoelectrons in the N and O 1s(-1)sigma(u) shape resonances of aligned N-2 and CO2. The dominance of coherent (N-2) and incoherent ( CO2) interference is revealed, pf and spd hybridization controls the m ain direction of photoelectron emission from the N and O K shell, resp ectively.
