Abstract
Linear attenuation coefficients of solutions of some compounds in aque ous medium have been measured at 662 keV. From the precisely measured densities of these solutions, mass attenuation coefficients were then obtained. The composition dependence of these mass attenuation coeffic ients has been successfully used to determine mass attenuation coeffic ients of the respective solutes which agree very well with the values; obtained through XCOM calculations.
