The infradian rhythmic of the behavioral parameters, urination, body m
ass and temperature in epiphysectomized rats exposed to a variable mag
netic field of a frequency of 8 Hz and induction of 5 mu T influence w
as studied. It was found that the removal of epiphysis leads to the re
organization of power spectra of biorhythms, a rise of their amplitude
s, and the development of desynchronosis. Further exposure of epiphyse
ctomized rats to a variable magnetic field partially normalizes the am
plitude-phase relations and decrease the disbalance of the processes.
These data indicate the important role of epiphysis in the magnetorece
ption and formation of the temporal structure of the organism and sugg
est the existence of other structures sensitive to variable magnetic f
ield.
