K. Tochigi et al., PREDICTION OF PHASE-EQUILIBRIA FOR SYSTEMS CONTAINING PHENOLS, WATER,AND CO2 USING PRASOG, Journal of Chemical Engineering of Japan, 31(5), 1998, pp. 838-841
Supercritical CO2 can be used to remove phenol from waste water, For e
valuation of various processing conditions, a model for the distributi
on coefficients of phenol is necessary, for example, when the aqueous
phenol solutions are contacted with supercritical CO2, The range of di
stribution coefficients of phenol is 0.034 to 1.66, at 9.65 to 17.23 M
Pa, and 323 K, The objective of this paper is to extend the applicabil
ity of PRASOG to CO2 + water + phenol solution, The average deviations
between the predicted and experimental distribution coefficients is 3
7.4%. For the four binary systems, i,e., phenol + water, phenol + CO2,
m-cresol + CO2, and H2O + CO2, the average deviation of the pressure
is 7.9%.
