A technique for constructing composite fluid sources for exterior rota
ting (stationary and axisymmetric) gravitational fields is presented.
The rotating field is only required to have a static limit for which a
source is known with the metric C-1 across the boundary. The techniqu
e is applied to construct a composite fluid source for the rotating Cu
rzon metric given by Hernandez-Pastora, Manko and Martin. Matter const
ituting the source is shown to satisfy energy conditions, and hence th
e source is physically reasonable.
