Abstract
The results of investigation and development in the field of designing tools for automated knowledge acquisition are presented. The results are obtained within the framework of the research project in the labor atory ''Artificial Intelligence Systems'' of the Department of Cyberne tics of the Moscow institute of Physical Engineering (Technical Univer sity). A task-oriented methodology of knowledge acquisition, together with approaches to its implementation at various stages of automated d esign of knowledge bases for integrated expert systems are described.
