Abstract
Although there may not be complete agreement on how to define it or ev en what causes it, craving for an abused substance is a constant compa nion for the addicted individual. For clinicians the problem remains h ow to better define and identify craving, because changes in craving m ight indicate improvement or worsening in the patient's condition.
