VENOUS ULCERS

This review summarizes current concepts regarding venous ulcers. Venou s ulcers are the most common cause of leg ulceration in the western wo rld. The pathophysiology, the mechanism of skin ulceration, and altera tions in the healing process are still unknown. This article focuses o n the epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical features, complications, and treatment of venous ulcers.
