Abstract
Three-body breakup cross sections and analyzing powers for the Li-6, L i-7, Be-9 and C-12((p) over right arrow, p alpha) reactions were measu red at an incident energy of 296 MeV. Data were analyzed using the pla ne wave impulse approximation (PWIA) and the distorted wave impulse ap proximation (DWIA) and compared with previous studies. DWIA calculatio ns reproduce shapes of projected spectra and analyzing power distribut ions fairly well with the exception of the C-12((p) over right arrow, p alpha) Be-8 reactions. Extracted spectroscopic factors for Li-6, Be- 9 and C-12 are larger than those found in the previous studies. In con trast, extracted spectroscopic factors for Li-7 agree with the previou s work. This work suggests that the spectroscopic factor for Li-6 is s imilar to 0.8, independent of incident energies and reaction types. (C ) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
