Abstract
The special feature of Mathematica in directly manipulating complex nu mbers is used to find the temperature oscillations in a slug flow insi de a circular tube, subjected to a periodically varying inlet temperat ure. Mathematica inputs used are as simple as possible. Examples show how to obtain the temperature oscillations in any desired location of the channel. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
