We propose a framework to deal with the cooperation of several pre-exi
sting automated information systems. A canonical object model is used
to homogenize data representation and support exchanges among various
granularity objects. The layered architecture combines physical and co
nceptual objects to provide local data sources interoperability. A cog
nitive extension involving federative objects interactions gives advan
