Abstract
Cutaneous neosporosis manifested by pyogranulomatous ulcerative dermat itis was diagnosed in an 11-year-old male Boxer. Histology revealed nu merous intralesional protozoal tachysoites within macrophages and neut rophils. Occasionally, tachysoites were observed within endothelial an d epithelial cells. Infection with Neospora caninum was confirmed by a vidin biotin complex immunohistochemistry using a Neospora-specific mo noclonal antibody. Cutaneous neosporosis is rare and has only been pre viously described in three cases. This report represents the first cas e of canine neosporosis in Israel and the Middle East.
