Abstract
The application of Voranoi graph and genetic algorithm in object recog nition was investigated. The shape similarity metrics were redefined i n some cases of applications. To speed up the searching process for ma tching, the genetic algorithm was used. Further, the viewing angles an d the model parameters were encoded into the chromosome string, and fi nally the fast generic object recognition and detection were realized.
