Abstract
An enantiospecific synthesis of a monocyclic core of the antifungal so rdarins and sordaricins has been achieved. This synthesis is based on the conversion of (+)-3,9-dibramocamphor into a 1,1,2,2,5-pentasubstit uted cyclopentane bearing all the key functionalities present in these antifungals.
