HEAT RELEASE OF QUENCH-CONDENSED HYDROGEN FILMS

Heat release experiments are reported on quench-condensed thin films o f solid H-2 and HD, measured during the initial annealing. The measure ments shed some light on the structural properties of quench-condensed films and particularly allow to estimate the initial grain size. For H-2 additional information about the ordering transition of ortho-mole cules could be extracted from the data.
