Aa. Ganeev et al., COMPARATIVE-STUDY OF THE IMPACT AND ELECTROSTATIC MECHANISMS OF THE PRECIPITATION OF ATMOSPHERIC AEROSOLS IN A THIN-WALL HOLLOW-CATHODE, Journal of analytical chemistry, 53(10), 1998, pp. 909-913
Results of a comparative study of two mechanisms (impact and electrost
atic) of aerosol precipitation in a new gas-discharge atomizer, namely
, a thin-wall metallic hollow cathode, are presented. It is shown that
the precipitation efficiency for the electrostatic method is higher t
han that for the impact methods even at the highest achievable pumping
rates of the analyzed air. It is suggested that both mechanisms be jo
intly used for the rapid and direct determination of elements in vario
us (in particle size) groups of aerosols.
