Abstract
Interferons (IFN) induce accumulation of tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase (WRS; EC 6.1.1.2) in human monocyte J-96 cells. Cell compartments show variable WRS accumulation. The increase in the WRS content is higher for cytoplasm (2-2.5 times), especially at its periphery (3.3-4.4 time s). WRS accumulation in the nucleus, except the region of diffuse/comp act chromatin border, is low (1.2 times). IFN also induces WRS accumul ation in the nucleolus (1.2-2.0 times). The changes in the WRS distrib ution in interferon-induced cells are supposed to be related to the no ncanonical WRS functions (other than aminoacylation) described earlier .
