Abstract
Perceived ease of use (EOU) is an important factor in determining whet her an individual will voluntarily use an IS. Many developers focus th eir attention on the system's interface when designing for EOU. For us ers, however, perceived EOU can extend beyond the interface. This pape r presents the results of a laboratory experiment confirming that perc eived EOU is also a function of task/technology fit. When users report that a system is difficult to use, developers should not assume that the interface is the problem. There may be deeper task/technology fit issues that are not corrected by changing the interface. (C) 1998 Else vier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
