M. Dresner et Th. Oum, THE EFFECT OF LIBERALIZED AIR TRANSPORT BILATERALS ON FOREIGN TRAFFICDIVERSION - THE CASE OF CANADA, Journal of transport economics and policy, 32, 1998, pp. 317
This paper investigates the effects of Canada's facilitating bilateral
air agreements with the UK, The Netherlands, and Germany, on the volu
me of visitors from those countries to Canada. It also studies the eff
ects of the US liberal bilateral air agreements on diverting Canadian
foreign visitors away from direct routes to routes that pass through t
he US. These objectives are accomplished by estimating visitor volume
models and route share models.
