ACCOUNTING FOR ENERGY USE IN CHINA, 1980-94

This study contains quantitative methods to account for national energ y use. Based on these models, an analysis has been made of energy cons umption, efficiency and savings in China in the period 1980-94. Our st udy supports the conclusion that the energy efficiency has improved si nce China's economic reform. However, the statistical system used in C hina is not sound.
