AN EXTENSION OF THE STATIC SHAKEDOWN THEOREM TO INELASTIC CRACKED STRUCTURES

Here we have investigated under which conditions elastic-perfectly pla stic, cracked bodies subjected to variable loads shake down. For this purpose, an extension of the static shakedown theorem (Melan's theorem ) is presented by using a crack analysis developed by Nguyen Quoc Son in the framework of the concept of generalized standard materials: (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd.
