Ck. Kim et Ys. Jeong, TERMINATION OF CARBOSILANE DENDRIMERS BASED ON HEXAALLYLETHYLENEDISILANE AS CORE MOLECULE, Silicon, germanium, tin and lead compounds, 21(10), 1998, pp. 593-599
Dendritic carbosilanes based on hexaallylethylenedisilane ((CH2=CHCH2)
(3)SiCH2)(2) as a core molecule and allyl-groups as growth generation
have been prepared. The reaction path of the repetitive hydrosilation-
alkenylation cycles is revealed by NMR spectroscopy. Each of the two s
teps (hydrosilation-alkenylation process) provided quantitative yields
of pure dendrimers. The termination of the dichloromethylsilyl-group
contained third generation (G3P with ClMe2Si-groups) and chlorodimethy
lsilyl-group contained fourth generation (G4P with ClMe2Si-groups) wit
h allylmagnesium bromide, p-bromophenol, p-phenylphenol, lithium alumi
num hydride and lithium phenylacetylide are performed. All of the term
inated dendrimers can be obtained as a pure substance after simple chr
omatographic purification. They are characterized by the use of spectr
oscopic analyses (NMR, MALDI mass, UV and IR) as well as elemental ana
lyses.
