Abstract
This paper introduces a multiple-channel hybrid filtered-X least mean square (MHFLMS) active noise control (ANC) algorithm. The algorithm is capable of canceling both narrow-band and broad-band noises in compli cated noise environments, The algorithm structure is discussed under a very general active noise canceling condition, The MHFLMS algorithm i s an integration of a multiple-channel filtered-X least mean square (M FXLMS) algorithm and a multiple-channel feedback filtered-x least mean square (MFBLMS) algorithm. The MHFLMS algorithm performance is analyz ed for its steady-state noise canceling behavior. Extensive computer s imulations verify that the MHFLMS algorithm outperforms several existi ng ANC algorithms under various noise canceling conditions. Analysis r esults of the actual noise from a large plant for, which a real-time AN C system is being developed also demonstrate the performance advantage s of the MHFLMS algorithm over the other ANC algorithms.
