Sw. Richards et al., POSTTRAUMATIC TIBIAL RECURVATUM - RESOLUTION WITH GROWTH, Annals of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, 80(6), 1998, pp. 419-421
The outcome of proximal tibial fractures in children is often complica
ted by the development of malalignment. Progressive valgus deformity i
s frequently seen, but is known to correct spontaneously in a high pro
portion of cases; however, recurvatum of the tibia usuary requires sur
gical intervention. We present a child with a proximal tibial metaphys
eal fracture who developed increasing tibial recurvatum which correcte
d spontaneously.
