H. Umemoto et al., RATE CONSTANTS FOR THE DEACTIVATION OF N(2(2)D) BY SIMPLE HYDRIDE ANDDEUTERIDE MOLECULES, Chemical physics letters, 296(1-2), 1998, pp. 203-207
Rate constants for the deactivation of N(D-2) by H-2, H2O, CH4, C2H6,
C3H8, NO and their deuterated isotopomers were determined. C-H bonds o
f methane isotopomers, CHnD4-n (n = 0-4), are 1.7 times more reactive
than C-D bonds. A similar isotope effect is observed between O-H and O
-D bonds of H2O and D2O. The rate constants for C2H6 and C3H8 are much
larger than that for CH,. These rate constants are in agreement with
results on the branching ratios of hydride and deuteride products. (C)
