Abstract
To evaluate the role of echocardiography for predicting and accurately detecting thrombi in patients with abnormal coronary arteries after K awasaki disease, we reviewed the echocardiograms of 40 consecutive pat ients and compared echocardiographic findings with angiographic findin gs when available. Patients with Kawasaki disease who had coronary art ery aneurysms greater than or equal to 5 mm had significantly greater multivessel involvement, thrombi, and persistent coronary abnormalitie s than those with diameters <5 mm.
