Abstract
The antiferromagnetically coupled trimanganese complex [Mn-II(bpca)(2) {Mn-II(hfac)(2)}(2)] (Hbpca = bis(2-pyridylcarbonyl)amine; Hhfac = hex afluoroacetylacetone) and its iron-manganese mixed metal derivative, [ Fe-II(bpca)(2){Mn-II(hfac)(2)}(2)], were synthesized by the reaction o f two equivalents of [Mn(hfac)(2)(H2O)(2)] with one equivalent of [M(b pca)(2)], the latter acting as a bridging complexed-ligand.
