The energy dependence for the survival probability of large rapidity g
aps (LRG) < \S\(2) >, is calculated in an Eikonal model assuming a Gau
ssian opacity. The parameters determining < \S\(2)> are evaluated dire
ctly from experimental data, without further recourse to models. We fi
nd that < \S\(2) > decreases with increasing energy, in line with rece
nt results for LRG dijet production at the Tevatron. (C) 1998 Elsevier
